Supporting Decision-Making With Quantitative and Qualitative Survey Data
Sage designs and conducts complex survey research projects to evaluate public policy and programs and to provide statistical information to support decision-making in both private and government sectors. Sage has developed innovative approaches to computer-assisted data collection and developed a tool called IDEAS. IDEAS is a Web-based Survey Tool that provides secure data collection and summary reporting capabilities. IDEAS is a multi-lingual system which has both RDD and web-based survey hosting capabilities.
Our survey experience includes study design, computer-assisted data collection, and analysis for studies of the general population as well as for many special respondent populations, such as patient populations, physicians and other health professionals.
Our strengths in these areas include the following:
Study design
OMB Clearance packages
Sampling, including complex multistage samples
Questionnaire design
Interviewer training and monitoring
Telephone, in-person, and mail survey administration
Reaching diverse study populations
Interviewing on sensitive topics
Database design and survey data management
Statistical analysis and reporting

The design of samples is a key component of survey research projects because the design serves as the basis for inference from the sample to the population. Sage statisticians have extensive experience in the design of complex samples and in all aspects of estimation. We work closely with other team members on survey data collection projects to integrate the sampling and estimation with other aspects of the project. We pay close attention to the primary descriptive and analytic goals of the project to ensure that the design and estimation procedures will meet those objectives. In the area of estimation from samples, we provide technical knowledge and practical experience in imputation, weighting, non-response adjustments, coverage adjustments, and post-stratification to control totals. In the area of telephone surveys, Sage staff have extensive knowledge in the design and proper implementation of random-digit-dialing samples. Sage staff works with subject matter experts to coordinate the design activity.
